How trainable is it?
The TH of then can be slow to train. In a small study by Iino and Wistner (2022), five Japanese students practiced English fricatives with an online high variability program once a week for eight weeks, and they identified this TH about 60% of the time at both the start and the end. High variability phonetic training (HVPT) does work for many sounds, as Ron Thomson's 2018 review of 32 studies found, but give this one more time than the others.
